Achilles: Legends Untold is an action RPG under the richness of Greek mythology. In the game, we embark on an adventure in a world full of dangers and challenges, on a journey where we embody the brave warrior Achilles. In this review, we took a look at Achilles: Legends Untold.
Achilles: Legends Untold review
Achilles: Legends Untold takes us to ancient Greece, a world full of myths and legends. The role assumed by the Greek hero is where he introduces us into an epic narrative where gods and monsters coexist. And it is where a love story, a Trojan war, and falling into the depths of posthumous suffering and coming back to life a decade later come together in an intriguing story.
It all ties into an intricately unfolding plot. It not only explores the hero’s struggle to return to his past. But he also struggles to make sense of his inner conflicts and connections with divine powers. The variety of secondary characters, nuances at the story level, and intertwined moments that introduce us to it, take us a little more into that world full of mysteries.
Achilles: Legends Untold gameplay
Moving on to the gameplay, Achilles: Legends Untold takes us to the exploration of a relatively open world full of marked areas. Where we can focus on the main quest and at the same time explore where there are other smaller quests, secrets hidden in the area and random situations that always lead us to curious detours that will contribute something.
But it’s clear that one of the game’s strengths is its combat system. It manages to create a rather interesting compendium among action role-playing games with certain deeper qualities where it will be necessary to dodge enemies, block enemies’ attacks, and learn the enemies’ tempos and mechanics in order to successfully get out of these fights.
The simplicity of the game’s combat system helps it to sincerely showcase its approach to combat that knows how to confuse it with details that force us to be careful and strategize.
Another point to note is the versatility of weapons and abilities, allowing the player to customize their playstyle regardless of whether they use a sword, axe, shield or spear. Each of them offers a base of materials that we can collect throughout a map and filled with dungeons, chests, or areas where we can collect items that we can then take to a blacksmith that allows us to craft or improve.
These improvements are also provided by a truly large and diverse skill tree. You can unlock them with the points you will be given as you level up. And this improves us or provides us with new very interesting qualities, active or passive, depending on the way and the type of game we want to play.
Achilles: Legends Untold graphics and sound
A very good job has been done when it comes to recreating the scenarios and the classic and fantasy setting that adorns the universe. The design of the characters is quite detailed. Their animations suit them wonderfully. Numerous visual and lighting effects fill some moments with visual power. A good interface makes every available action clear.
It brings together the soundtrack very well. The execution of the music knows how to adapt to every moment. A very well measured production is presented with the epic cut surrounding everything. Various and very powerful sound effects are also included.
