Percy soon discovers the real reason behind much of his distress: He is a demigod, or one of the demigod, half-human children of Greek mythology figures. The last book in the series, The Last Olympian, was published in 2009, but Riordan has since created several spin-offs such as Heroes of Olympus and The Trials of Apollo. Now we are faced with a series that will be broadcast on Disney Plus.

Details about the release date of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series have emerged. Percy Jackson and the Olympians will air on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.

For those looking forward to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a new update offers some hopeful news. Series creator Riordan explained in one of his blog posts that “the most likely release date will likely be early 2024.”

By the way, this time Walker Scobell will play the lead role instead of Logan Lerman, who played the role of ‘Percy’ in the films of the series. Leah Jeffries will play the “support” Annabeth Chase, while Aryan Simhadri will play the “guardian of the group” Grover Underwood. While there isn’t much to share about the new series (like casting or release date), Riordan has confirmed that he and his wife, Becky, will be joining the cast. The original book series consists of five books and has two spin-offs and has a wealth of deep stories to draw from.

The first season of the Disney+ series will reportedly focus on the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief. If the series is renewed for a second season, it will likely focus on shooting one season per book, opening up opportunities for five or more seasons.
