Where are downloaded files located on iPhone?
If you have downloaded the files to your iPhone or iPad, locating them can be confusing compared to Mac or PC. iOS and iPadOS have a special folder where they store downloads and you can find it through the Files app.
First, find the Files app on your iPhone or iPad. The fastest way to do this is with Spotlight Search. Swipe down one finger from the middle of the home screen and then type “Files”. Tap “Files” in the search results.
iPhone Downloads Folder
To open downloaded files and PDFs, you need to open the “Files” application. You can find the Files app on the home screen. You can also reach it from the search section by swiping down the screen or using Siri.
In the Files app, tap “Browse” at the bottom and then “On My iPhone” depending on the device you’re using. Now you can look at the files located on the iPhone.
The list under “Locations” varies depending on which apps you have installed, but your device will always have the “On my iPhone” list.
You will then see a list of folders that still change depending on the apps you have installed. Usually most people save files in the “Downloads” folder, so tap it.
You will see a list of all the downloaded files. During the download process, you can save a file in a folder other than “Downloads“. If you don’t see the file you’re looking for, tap the Back arrow in the top left, then tap another folder.
When you find the file you want, you can tap it to preview it or tap and hold it to open a pop-up menu. You can then move, copy or rename the file along with other actions.
When you’re done, simply exit the Files app. The next time you open Files, the file you’re looking for will be right where you left it.
