According to the new report showing the world’s most expensive cities, Hamilton, Basel and Zurich were the most expensive cities. While Paris was not in the top 10 of the list, no Asian city was included in the list.

This assessment is based on The Economist Intelligence Unit’s latest Worldwide Cost of Living index, which shows how prices for goods and services have been affected in 549 cities as of mid-season 2023.

The most expensive cities in the world

In general, the biggest price increases occurred due to the Russia-Ukraine war, which affected the supply of goods, embargoes between countries and the raw material crisis. The biggest price drops have occurred in the world’s poorest countries, due to weak currencies and rising poverty levels.

The report noted that while supply chain problems have increased the price of high-demand products such as computers in some cities, they have had different effects on different goods.
